IOW GREYHOUNDS IN THE MEDIA!!!
We are so chuffed with the lovely knitted dogs that Tina Smith did for us. However, we were shocked and so pleased that they got a mention on the Fi Glover and Jane Garvey Times Podcast "Off Air" - the link is below and it is at about 27 mins into the show.

Tomorrow is Bring Your Dog to Work Day! 💚🐾

With temperatures expected to remain exceptionally high this week 🥵 some dogs may appreciate swapping a warm home for a cool, air-conditioned office.

If your workplace is dog-friendly and your hound is comfortable around people and new environments, why not see if they can join you for the day?

Whether they’re helping with meetings, supervising from under a desk, or simply providing moral support, dogs have a way of brightening the working day. 😊

If you’re planning to take your dog to work, make sure they have:

💧 Plenty of fresh water

❄️ A cool place to rest

🌳 Access to shade

🚶 Exercise early morning and late evening when the temperatures are cooler

🐾Thinking of adopting a retired greyhound? Could you be the special home that this special boy is looking for? 🐾

Everyone here at the Isle of Wight Greyhound Trust absolutely loves Ollie, he is the sweetest most loving dog and we all adore him but he really deserves a home and a sofa to call his own and we know he would make the right owner(s) the most wonderful companion.

He does have a couple of less easy characteristics, he can be over keen when he sees other dogs out and about which means he can be a little strong on the lead at these times, most of the time he walks beautifully. We have been working on this and he is improving but would need someone who is willing and able to continue this training. He also can be a little over attached to his humans so in a multi dog environment he would need someone who can teach him he needs to share! He is fine here with us and interacts well with our other greyhounds but we have had to explain to Oliver that we have enough love to go around ❤️ Of course if he were the only dog in the home this wouldn't be an issue at all.

If you are the person or family who feels they could provide the ideal home for Ollie with regards to his needs you will end up with a lifetime of his love and devotion, he just loves to love 🖤🤍.

Generally greyhounds don't need huge amounts of exercise, a couple of twenty to thirty minute strolls a day will keep them perfectly satisfied. Oliver does need a comfortable bed or sofa and a forever home of his own.

We need your help greyhound lovers! 🙏🐾

Look at these beauties!!! 😍🐾😍

A very lovely and talented lady, Tina Smith, has knitted these greyhound caricatures for us to raise money for the hounds in our care. They are each completely individual and we think they are just brilliant 👏 🥰

We aren't sure of the best way to go about raising money from them but we want to do the best we can as Tina has clearly spent lots of time creating them, what do you guys think? Should we sell them, auction them or any better ideas 💡🤔 we would love to know you'd thoughts please 🙏 😊

HOMING ON HOLD DURING THE IOW FESTIVAL

For the duration of the Isle of Wight Festival we will be putting homings on hold. So, from Thursday 18 June - Sunday, 21 June we will be not arranging any visits by potential homers.

We will still be accepted enquiries via email ([email protected]) and will respond to all enquiries after the festival.
