Mind in Gwent

Mind in Gwent We want to create a mentally healthy society. Mind in Gwent is member of the Local Mind Associations in England and Wales.

Through our information, services and campaigns, we tackle stigma, barriers and isolation so that everyone can access mental health support when they need it. Mind in Gwent is a mental health organisation formed by the merger of Newport Mind Association, Mind Monmouthshire and Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent Mind. With offices in Newport, Abergavenny, Pontypool, and Brynmawr, we use our shared experienc

e and knowledge to help people in our diverse communities with their mental health struggles. We provide a wide range of support and services working with diverse communities across Gwent to help reach those in our communities in need of support. Our services include Wellbeing and Counselling services for adults, Children and Young People’s services (including group and one on one support in and outside of schools), Housing, Tenancy and Supported Living services, warm hubs and rural working/farmers’ support. Public posts are currently switched off on this page. If you'd like to get in touch, please contact our team via [email protected] or visit mindingwent.org.uk.

Supporting mental health at work starts with the right training.

Here's what Lee, Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist, had to say about the course.

We're thrilled to share that Mind in Gwent has been awarded £10,000 from The Hospital Saturday Fund – the maximum grant available through their funding programme.

This funding will enable us to extend our Information, Advice and Assistance service to rural communities across Gwent for the next 12 months.

Our Rural Communities Support Worker Helen regularly meets with members of the farming community at the Monmouthshire Rural Support Centre in Raglan Livestock Market – a vital hub where people can connect and seek support away from the isolation that can often come with rural life.

Thanks to this grant, we will be able to provide an additional day of rural outreach each week, helping us break down geographical barriers and ensure more farming families and rural residents can access the mental health information, advice and support they need, regardless of where they live in Gwent.

We would like to thank The Hospital Saturday Fund for their generosity and for recognising the importance of improving access to mental health support in our rural communities.
