Next Wednesday , 1st April , we’ll be giving away plants,soil and seeds to those who are taking part in the Maindee in Bloom competition. You need to live in Maindee and have a front garden space. Businesses, schools and community groups can take part too. Judging is on July 1st. Come along between 11 and 1pm and find out more! There will be an egg hunt too! See you at St Mary’s on the 1st or at The Triangle on 10th April! Let’s make Maindee bloom! 🌺🌸🌻🌼🌷🌸

We have just had a wonderful morning at Eveswell Primary School who showcased this half term of work on the Cynefin Project which focussed on the actions in our Maindee Nature Plan. Seed planting for school and Maindee in Bloom, designer green roof bus shelters, wormeries, bee homes 🐝 and these wonderful leaflets to encourage people to use Woodland Park. Great work everyone! It’s been a pleasure to work alongside you all and Newport City Council to complete this whole school community project.

This coming Friday (27th at 10.00am ) Greening Maindee volunteers will be taking part in the Great British Spring Clean event in conjunction with Keep Wales Tidy.

If you would like to join us and help clean-up our community then come along to St Mary’s Community Garden (on the junction of Wharf Road and Corporation Road).

Any one else having a slow day...?

We had a lovely walk with the wonderful ladies from Age Alive at Tredegar House connecting with nature, discovering really ancient trees, a secret garden 🪴 and learning which leaf was which. It’s great to link with other community groups to spread the love of nature and gardening. Looking forward to the next one in December.
