Today is World Cancer Day.

To mark this, 5K Your Way groups around the UK will be getting together for an extra meet this Saturday, 7th February 2026 at different locations. Locally there will be groups meeting at Rogiet parkrun, Aberdare parkrun and Llanishen Park parkrun.

We were in the stunningly beautiful location of Brecon on Saturday in a different sort of meet up. We met with Jane from Powys Teaching Health Board & the Macmillan Cancer Support “Improving Cancer Journey” programme and Naomi, Event Director of Y Promenâd Parkrun.

Also from the Health Board was Robin who works in communications, supporting the roll out of “Silver Cloud” which is a free mental health support service available across the UK.

We all want to say a massive thank you to Celia, our Group Lead who is moving to Cornwall. Since we launched in spring 2023, she’s kept things going & the group has kept growing. We had 3 new group members join us today, including Co-Event Director Howard & Run Director Peta who were proudly wearing their new, light blue T shirts!
