🐾🌿 Litter picking helps to protect the wildlife on our doorstep

This , let’s remember that any piece of litter dropped on the ground can have consequences for animals and the natural world.

From plastic and food waste to discarded fishing line, litter can injure wildlife, pollute habitats and threaten biodiversity.

We can all do our bit to protect the environment we share with wildlife. 💚

It’s Red Squirrel Awareness Week!🐿️

The Isle of Wight is one of the last strongholds for red squirrels in southern England, making it a pretty special place to spot them.🍂

This week is all about raising awareness of our native reds and the importance of protecting them and their habitats.

Want to spot one for yourself? Check out our guide to some of the best places to look.

Last week, Judith from the Green Isle of Wight team was at Cowes Community Club delivering one of our many outreach sessions across the Isle of Wight.

She spoke with local residents about the free energy advice and support we provide — including help understanding bills, reducing energy costs and improving home energy efficiency.

These sessions take place regularly in communities across the Island. If you couldn’t make this one, you can find details of upcoming outreach dates on our website.

Visit www.greeniow.org.uk to see where we’ll be next or to get in touch for support.
