Building Foundations

Building Foundations Building Foundations is a small, local charity, set up as a community interest company at the end of 2021.

We aim to improve the life chances of people who are not in education, employment or training, through informal training and mentoring support, combining essential skills in areas like construction, catering and hospitality with valuable life skills. The charity arranges informal training and work experience placements for young people who are not in education, training or employment, including th

ose from disadvantaged backgrounds, with additional needs or mental health issues. We're based in a former sweet factory on Wern Industrial Estate in Rogerstone, Newport, which has been transformed into a community hub known as The Warehouse. We also run The Loading Bay Community Café at the hub, which hosts parent-and-toddler groups in its recently refurbished soft play area. We also offer mentoring and job-seeking support on an informal basis and have two experienced mentors as part of our team. We have been working with a local Milton Park Primary School on a bird box project. Next week we will be painting the bird boxes and putting them up in the school grounds ready for next spring.
