Do you find yourself singing along to hits by ABBA, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Hermann's Hermits, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Highwaymen, Bernard Cribbens, Cilla Black, and Don Mclaen?
What do they have in common?
They all recorded songs with a man’s name in the title, respectively: Fernando, Jude, Jack, Daniel, Henry, Joe, Jack, Johnny, Michael, Fred, Alfie and Vincent.
Do you enjoy singing but feel you’re “not very good”? That’s exactly who Singing for Fun is for. The clue is in the name — it’s all about enjoyment, not perfection.
Music Builds Communities – “Singing for Fun” May 20, 2026 • “Songs with Men’s Names”
It’s a mix of rock, pop, comedy, folk and a couple of showtunes.
🎶 What makes Singing for Fun different?
• No auditions — come simply because you like singing.
• No voice parts — no need to know whether you’re an alto, tenor, or anything else.
• No reading of music needed — lyrics are projected on a large screen.
• No rehearsals — we sing the songs on the night; if it goes wrong, that’s part of the fun.
• No regular commitment — come when you can, for the songs you love.
• No up front cost — just a small voluntary donation on the evenings you attend.
You’ll be singing alongside others — something proven to be good for your wellbeing — accompanied by our friendly group of acoustic guitarists.
🎤 Join us in Exning on May 20 at 8pm in Exning Community Church Hall
