Music Builds Communities – “Singing for Fun” June 17, 2026 • “Songs about Colours”

Do you enjoy singing but feel you’re “not very good”? That’s exactly who Singing for Fun is for. The clue is in the name — it’s all about enjoyment, not perfection
The selection of songs which include colours has resulted in a mix of rock, pop, and folk, with a showtune and a traditional song. The songs were recorded by Chris de Birgh, Dido, Elvis Presley, Jeff Beck, Peggy Lee, Pete Seeger, Tom Jones, Tommy Steele, and groups Beatles, Dubliners, Jefferson Airplane, Rolling Stones, Tremeloes.
These were hits between 1955 and 2003. In fact one song is so old we can claim to cover the 18th to 21st centuries!

🎶 What makes Singing for Fun different?
It’s a singalong not a choir
• No auditions — come simply because you like singing.
• No voice parts — no need to know whether you’re an alto, tenor, or anything else.
• No reading of music needed — lyrics are projected on a large screen.
• No rehearsals — we sing the songs on the night; if it goes wrong, that’s part of the fun.
• No regular commitment — come when you can, for the songs you love.
• No up front cost — just a small voluntary donation on the evenings you attend.
You’ll be singing alongside others — something proven to be good for your wellbeing — accompanied by our friendly group of acoustic guitarists.
