🐾 Volunteer Opportunity – Morning Cattery Cleaning 🐾

Join the team at RSPCA Bluebell Ridge and help make a real difference to the cats in our care! ❤️

We’re looking for reliable volunteers to help with our morning cleaning routine in the cattery.

Duties include:

🧹 Cleaning cat accommodation (including litter trays)
🪣 Sweeping and mopping the cattery building
🧼 Washing bowls and litter trays
🐱 Spending time socialising with the cats while you work

This role is an essential part of keeping our cats healthy, comfortable, and happy while they wait for their forever homes.

🕘 Volunteer hours: 9:15am – 12:30pm

📅 Current availability:
• Tuesdays
• Wednesdays
• Thursdays (2 volunteer spaces available)
• Saturdays

Reliability and consistency are really important, as the cats depend on us every day — so we’re looking for volunteers who can commit to turning up regularly.

Here's a secret tip from our networking wiz Joey

If you’re applying for roles that list essential and desirable criteria, this might completely change your results.

Here’s the secret:

Most hiring panels use a scoring matrix.

They aren’t reading your application thinking, “Do I like this person?”

They’re asking:

“Have they evidenced this specific criterion?”

So instead of writing one long personal statement, do this:

Take each essential criterion
Address it directly
Provide a clear STAR example for each one

Situation. Task. Action. Result.

Make it painfully easy for the panel to award you top marks.

Because here’s the truth:

It’s not about who writes the most beautifully.

It’s about who makes it easiest to score.

And over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more “secret tips” that most candidates aren’t told about structured recruitment and scoring systems.
