It was wonderful to have so many support services at the Sharing Kitchen today. Thank you to Sue from Rethink Mental Illness, Sarah from Healthwatch Gloucestershire and Emily from Gloucestershire County Council Adult Social Care who came to share the Ask Grace WhatsApp tool for carers.

Thank you to our superb team for wonderful food and all the work that goes into serving meals. A special thank you to those that pulled together to cover absences, including our participants who helped clear away. This is what community is all about 💙

Good to back at Newent Community Centre today with the new improved kitchen. We served a record of 47 meals today (max capacity 50 😬).

We've reached the end of our special afternoon teas at Newent Memorial Hall and I'd like to thank every single volunteer who has been involved. To those who have baked cakes, biscuits and meringues, to those who have made sandwiches, wraps and savoury treats, to those who have set up/down the hall every week and to those who have served, cleared and coped with mountains of washing up.

We have one very big special thank you to the lady whose idea it was, who planned, shopped, baked, and spent many hours preparing for each week of afternoon teas 💙 KAREN HOWARD 💙. A small example being she was up at 7am today making individual cheesecakes. This afternoon we acknowledged Karen's hard work with a special Sharing Kitchen AFTERNOON TEA QUEEN 2026 AWARD! 💙

FOUND at Memorial Hall this morning, belonging to a lady with last name beginning with B, if this is yours you can collect today (Monday 10th) before 4 from The Sharing Kitchen at the Memorial Hall, if you don’t see this in time we will give to the Memorial Hall team when we leave.

A huge thank you to Joyce Carter for sewing more Sharing Kitchen badges on to more aprons this week. Lovely to be joined by volunteer's children/grandchildren in the holidays to help while at the Memorial Hall, waitressing our afternoon teas.
Delicious menu today thanks again to Karen, and the whole team who made wraps, cakes, meringues, set up the hall and served/cleared 🩵🩵

43 happy participants for afternoon tea today. Thank you to all the incredible volunteers who collected surplus food for the free table, shopped, cooked, baked and produced our wonderful pizza squares and sandwich platter today, with homemade cakes and cookies for afters. Thank you to all who served, cleared, washed up and set up/down the hall. Hard work behind the scenes that make for a wonderful free community meal every week.
