We love our buses - not because we're obsessed with big shiny motor vehicles - but because we believe that folks should be able to get around safely on our country roads any way they choose. Bus, bike, foot, tractor, car, or horse and cart. That's what we're working towards - one bus ride at a time!

🎖HIGHLY COMMENDED🎖 Buses4Us
Grassroots Voluntary Group of the Year 2024

Buses4Us is a remarkable community-driven initiative founded by Newent resident Clare Stone in response to local transport challenges. After hearing about the difficulties families faced getting children to school and travelling between towns, Clare rallied the community and local councils to establish a grassroots transport solution. With support from Town and Parish Councils, private investment, and local government funding, Buses4Us launched The Daffodil Line, connecting Ledbury, Newent, and Ross-on-Wye. Now in its third year of operation, the service is financially sustainable and an essential lifeline for the community. Beyond providing transport, Clare and her team produce newsletters, organise community events, and actively foster connections between the Daffodil Line and the residents it serves. Buses4Us exemplifies grassroots ingenuity and community spirit, making transport accessible and strengthening local bonds.

Congratulations – BUSES4US you are a Forest Volunteer Award winner 2024!

Could you spare a couple of hours to help us out next Saturday 23rd March?
We are supporting community events in Newent and Oxanhall and we could really use a few extra pairs of hands.
We are looking for people to help with general stewarding - directing visitors and traffic, and helping to keep the place tidy, at Newent Spring Fayre and Oxenhall Daffodil Weekend.
Be a part of the event.
In Newent we’ll be hosting
Vintage Tractors
Horse Drawn carriage rides with the Coldcroft Shires
Charity Stocks
Morris Dancers and singers
A Treasure hunt
And community and local craft and produce stalls
In Oxenhall there will be
Guided Walks
Daffodil Teas
A vintage car procession
Stalls
Children's Activities
Lots of people are giving their time and talents for free to make these great community events and help raise money for local charities.
We would love to have a few more people on hand to ensure the events run smoothly.
If you could spare 2 hours or more on Saturday 23rd we would love to hear from you.
Drop us a message or email [email protected]

Of all the things we do to support the Daffodil Line producing the quarterly mag Down the Line is by far the most fun.
We get to work with an amazing team of volunteer authors, poets, artists, and all-round local legends.
We get to go on wonderful walks, visit cosy pubs and cafes and find out about our local history and nature.
All in all, it's a tough job . . .
This time we owe special thanks to poet Sara-Jane Arbury for our own version of "Jingle Bells", artist Von Feathers for our beautiful front cover, and the multi-talented Hannah Ferguson Art for design and layout.
A huge thank you to everyone involved.
Pick up your Free copy from libraries, Tourist information offices and businesses up and down the line.

Your FREE guide to our local winter wonderland is here!
In this Issue:
What’s on this winter up and down the Daffodil Line: local events,
Beers on the Bus,
Slow Travel,
the History in our Hedgerows
and much more.
Pick up your copy at Ross or Ledbury Tourist Information Centres, Newent Library and many local shops, pubs and cafes all along the line.
Big thanks to all our volunteer contributers, including poet Sarah-Jane Arbury for our very own version of "Jingle Bells" artist Von Feathers for our beautiful front cover image, and the multi-talented Hannah Ferguson for design nd layout.
Enjoy!
