Part 2 🎉🌟 AUTISM HAS A VOICE – WHAT A HUGE SUCCESS! 🌟🎉 long post incoming
WOW… what an absolutely fantastic day! ❤️
Today we brought our Autism Has a Voice project to an end with an amazing celebration, and looking around at everyone smiling, laughing and enjoying themselves reminded us exactly why we started this project in the first place.
A massive thank you to the Mayor of Gateshead for coming along, officially opening our celebration and helping us hand out the special awards and gifts to everyone who took part. 🏆🎁 It really made the day feel extra special.
A huge thank you to the Metrocentre for allowing us to host our celebration in the Community Hub and for continuing to give our community a space where we can come together. ❤️
But one of our BIGGEST thank-yous has to go to the National Lottery Community Fund. 🙌🎉
Without your support, this project simply wouldn't have been possible. You helped us take an idea and
BRING IT TO LIFE! ❤️
It was also absolutely lovely to finally meet some of the Lottery staff who came along today. After working alongside you for many years, it was so nice to finally put faces to names and have you there to see first-hand what your support has helped create within our community.
🎬 A massive thank you to C-Screens for your incredible support and for allowing us to share the voices of our community across your AWESOME big screens. Seeing our community up there, sharing their experiences and having their voices heard, has been something really special.
👏 THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
To every volunteer who helped today and throughout the project – thank you. You helped us bring everything together, and today wouldn't have been the same without you.
And I need to give a very special thank you to Sue for support me personal . ❤️
Sue has worked incredibly hard organising all the little community trips, activities and experiences that have happened throughout this project.
🎪 Bouncy castles🐴 Horse riding🎭 Theatre trips⚽ Football ground visits🎉 Parties🐣 Easter events🎄 Christmas wreath making🚶 Community walks❤️ And so many other memories along the way!
Sue, you did an amazing job helping bring this project alive and creating opportunities for families to get out, try something different, make friends and, most importantly, make memories together. THANK YOU! ❤️ love Richie.
And finally…
🌟 THE BIGGEST THANK YOU GOES TO OUR COMMUNITY. 🌟
Because that's what these projects are really about.
They're not just about events, trips or activities.
They're about COMMUNITY.
They're about bringing people together, creating friendships, building confidence and giving people somewhere they feel they belong.
But this particular project was about something even more important…
YOUR VOICE. 🗣️❤️
Showing people that autistic people have experiences to share, opinions that matter and stories that deserve to be heard.
AUTISM HAS A VOICE.
And over this project, you made sure people heard it. 🎬🌟
Thank you to every single person who took part, came along, supported us, shared their story or simply stood beside us.
And yes… the cake was AWESOME too! 🎂😂 It definitely went down well!
📸 Now take a look through the photos and see for yourself just how awesome today really was!
From all of us at Awesometistic…
Finally a little thank you to Matty for his Costa coffee which helped us push through the last few hour. Stay awesome.
THANK YOU. ❤️
What a project.What a community.What a way to finish it. 🌟
