Hi there, I would just like to introduce myself. I'm Lauren, President of West Moor Rockets WI.
I'm a busy mum of two with a 7 and 2 year old both with additional needs. I love to keep busy and enjoy trying new activities.
I joined over 18 months ago to meet new people after losing my mum and I couldn't have felt more welcome. I chatted and had a cup of tea at my first group and by the end decided I would like to become a member. I ended up taking the meetings alongside the secretary role until I was officially voted in as President by our members.
I've made friends including my now best friend, meet up for catch ups and just love how friendly and welcoming our group really is.
Below is a recent photo of me trying to hula hoop at one of our groups. I was a little nervous to try this as I have terrible co ordination but it was so much fun and pushed me out of my comfort zone. Surrounded by a lovely group of ladies we had lots of laughs and giggles as we attempted to hula hoop. Some were absolutely amazing whilst others including myself just tried to keep it off the floor for as long as we could without laughing too much but the main thing is we tried something new and different.

We have a fantastic committee who work hard behind the scenes to plan events and keep our paperwork up to date and much more including our treasurer who has created this page for us

Welcome to our page for West Moor rockets. Some of our ladies last year at our Easter meeting

We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at West Moor Community centre. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
We have a mixture of speakers and activities. Upcoming meetings include The Canny chocolate company demonstration, henna tattoos and pilates.
