Community Clean Up Day
This Saturday the 24th of October Kids Kabin will be working with local resident Chuck Taylor to hold our second Walker Community Clean-up Day.
Along with Kids Kabin Staff & volunteers there will be various community organisations from across Walker represented. We will be meeting at Church Walk (near the Greggs) at 11am and we would like to invite you all to come and join us. Everyone is welcome young and old (although under 18 should be accompanied by an adult).
Our first event was a huge success and had over 40 people come along, and we cleared 70 bags of litter, made some new friends and had a really good time.

But we are expecting this one to be even bigger and better.

So don't miss out and come join us to have a chat, clean up the streets around Tyneview Primary and Titan Road and meet people who really care about Walker.
Equipment will be provided but if you have your own feel free to bring it.

Look what’s come out of the Kids Kabin workshop!

An idea from one of last year’s international volunteers has become the latest creation. Guillermo suggested making a set of balance bars, and our staff and volunteers worked together to build them.

Two of our young people were soon putting the finished bars to the test. They’re now ready for plenty more balancing, playing and practising at Walker, so come and have a go.

What would you like us to build next?

Please join us in welcoming TJ and Sara, our new international volunteers!

Sara joins us from Assam in India and speaks an impressive six languages. She enjoys arts and crafts, crochet, cooking and music, and is looking forward to trying new skills during her time at Kids Kabin.

TJ is originally from Hertfordshire and was training to become a secondary school science teacher before joining us. His interests include woodwork, cookery and football, and he’s looking forward to spending time with the young people and learning skills from everyone at Kids Kabin.

We’re really pleased to have them both with us and look forward to sharing more from their year.

We’re back in action across Newcastle, Middlesbrough and East Durham!

Young people have been getting stuck into pottery and woodwork, while our budding scientists in Walker put on their lab coats and goggles to make elephant toothpaste.

These are just some of the practical and creative activities happening at Kids Kabin. There are plenty more opportunities to make, experiment, learn new skills and have fun together throughout the year.

Would your child like to join in?
Please email [email protected] or send us a DM to find out if there are spaces in your area.
