A huge shout‑out to our Whitley Bay Explorer Scouts, who are gearing up to join Scouts from around the globe at next year’s World Scout Jamboree in Poland! ✨️

They’ll be proudly representing Northumberland Scouts as part of Unit 53 WSJ 2027, and today they’ve been doing a fantastic job running our tuckshop at Gaduron 26 to support their fundraising.

Well done team — you’re doing us proud already! ⚜️🌍

🛒 Fundraising at Tesco! 🇵🇱🤠
Yesterday, some of our Unit 53 Geordie Cowboys headed to Tesco Kingston Park for another fantastic day of fundraising towards our journey to the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland! 🌍⚜️
Our young people and leaders spent the day collecting donations and chatting to shoppers about the Jamboree, what we'll be getting up to in Poland and the incredible adventure ahead of us.
It was a brilliant and successful day of fundraising, and we'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who stopped to chat, donated and supported our unit. Every donation, big or small, helps our young people get one step closer to Poland! ❤️
A huge thank you as well to Tesco Kingston Park for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to fundraise in store. 🛒
And, of course, Penelope the Puffin came along to lend a wing and help with the fundraising! 🐧💰
👀 And for the eagle-eyed among you… you might spot something new in these photos! Our new Unit 53 neckerchiefs have arrived and made their first appearance! 🤠🧣

🌍🤠 The Geordie Cowboys take on PGL! 🤠🌍

What a weekend for Unit 53! Our Geordie Cowboys headed to PGL Newby Wiske for a brilliant weekend packed with adventure, challenges, teamwork and plenty of laughs along the way!

Across the weekend, the unit took on everything from the Vertical Challenge, archery and Jacob’s Ladder to the Aqua Park, giant swing, fencing, laser tag and problem solving. 🏹💦🧗

It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to challenge themselves, try something new and, most importantly, continue getting to know each other and building together as a unit ahead of our journey to Poland. 🇵🇱

There were plenty of cowboy hats along the way 🤠, some questionable dancing 🕺, and even the leaders couldn't resist getting involved in the activities!

We also held a raffle over the weekend 🎟️, with plenty of prizes up for grabs — so many that the laundry trolley had to be called into action! 😂

To top it all off, we had the exciting opportunity to take over the UK Contingent Instagram during the weekend! 📱🇬🇧 It was great to give everyone a glimpse into what Unit 53 were getting up to and share some of the fun from our weekend at PGL.

A massive well done to everyone for getting stuck in and making the weekend such a success. Another brilliant weekend together and another step closer to the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland 2027! 🇵🇱🌍

On to the next stop on the Geordie Cowboys’ journey… 🤠

A huge well done to the 10 young people from our unit who attended the Tynemouth District Camp this weekend 👏🏕️

They arrived ready to run the tuck shop as part of their fundraising efforts, but quickly became an invaluable part of the wider camp team, helping out wherever they were needed throughout the weekend.

From supporting activities to lending a hand behind the scenes, their enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to get involved did not go unnoticed. They were fantastic ambassadors for the unit and should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.

Thank you to Tynemouth District for the opportunity, and well done to all 10 young people for representing the unit so brilliantly! 🌍⚜️
