The evenings are getting darker and, the weather is getting colder.

For many people in our community, this means facing a difficult reality: choosing between heating their home or putting food on the table.

We're asking for your support to help us continue supporting local families and individuals through the colder months. If you're able to donate any of our most needed items, you'll help ensure nobody has to face the difficult reality of heating or eating.

Thank you for helping us make a difference. 💚

We have partnered with Bookbanks who will be joining our Venerable Bede Foodbank sessions from November 2026.

They are looking for volunteers to help look after pop-up stalls of free books inside food banks in their communities. The stalls are weekly, but they ask each volunteer to look after it in a pair, on rotation, once a month.

If you are interested in joining Bookbanks you can register your interest via this link- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe-DzxgVOCd3IUv85b4mvTwhLi9FcJkSGEdOgXgs4Cp5IfIPQ/viewform

🌾This Harvest season, we invite our community, churches and schools to come together to help support local people in food poverty by holding a food collection for Newcastle Foodbank.

Every donation helps provide emergency food and essential items to individuals and families facing hardship in our community. Harvest is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the importance of sharing what we have with those who need it most.

If you would like to organise a collection, we can provide details of our most-needed items and resources to support your appeal.
Thank you for helping us make a difference this Harvest.💚
