๐ณ๏ธ May Local Elections: Your Voice for our Community
Tomorrow, Thursday 7th May, is election day! We want to wish the best of luck to everyone standing to be our local champions. Regardless of the outcome, the GPNA looks forward to working with and supporting our elected councillors to make our neighborhood the best it can be.
๐ค What is a Local Councillor?
Itโs important to remember that a councillor is not "the Council", they are your representative. Their job is to listen to your concerns, share your voice in the chamber, and fight for the services that affect our daily lives like unfinished paths and roads, better facilities for our children, safe crossings, better bus services, healthcare provision, and lacking infrastructure.
๐ Voting Essentials
1. This is an "all-out" election, which means you have three votes to cast for the candidates you feel will best represent our area.
2. Voter ID: You must bring a valid photo ID to the polling station to vote.
3. Polling Cards: You do not need your polling card with you to vote, as long as you are on the electoral register and have your ID.
4. Postal Votes: If you have a postal vote but forgot to mail it, don't worry! You can hand-deliver your completed postal vote pack to your local polling station before 10 PM tomorrow.
5. Where to Vote: If you aren't sure where your polling station is, you can find it instantly here:

๐ Every Vote Counts
This is expected to be a very tight race, and in local elections, just a few votes can decide who represents us for the next term.
If you are still undecided, we encourage you to look at the platforms of the main contenders to see who aligns with your priorities, the other parties don't appear to be anywhere close to winning:
