✨ Book Club Review | The Correspondent by Virginia Evans ✨

This month’s book club pick was a beautiful surprise, earning a 9/10 from the group. We loved the unique format of the story being told entirely through letters, with writing that felt heartfelt, authentic and incredibly moving.

Sybil sparked some great discussion. Those of us who read the physical book really connected with her, while our audiobook listeners found her a little less likeable. Despite the lack of physical descriptions, we all found ourselves vividly imagining the characters and becoming invested in their relationships.

Heartbreaking yet hopeful, this story explores love, loss and guilt with moments of warmth and humour throughout. It left a lasting impression on our book club, and we’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for an emotional, character-driven read.

📖 Book Review: The God of the Woods

We gave this one a 7/10. It took some members a while to get into because there are so many characters and found it hard to keep track of everyone at times. That said, the mystery kept us intrigued, and once all the pieces started coming together, it was definitely worth sticking with.

Next month’s pick is The Correspondent by Virginia Evans 💌📚
A heartfelt, witty, and beautifully written story told through letters — and already giving perfect cozy reading vibes. I cannot wait to dive into this one next month with a glass of bubbly and all the candlelit reading nights. 🥂✨

Who’s adding this to their June TBR? 🤍

Our latest read, When the Cranes Fly South, sparked a deeply emotional discussion in book club. 📚 Many loved its exploration of family dynamics and emotional depth, though the writing style divided opinion. A heavy but powerful story that stayed with us long after the final page.
