This Harvest time, we're giving thanks for God's provision after months of hardship🌱🌾

If you’ve been following us for a while, you might remember our Reaping Joy campaign, raising money for church led agriculture projects in war-torn areas of South Sudan. Even more recently, Bishop Emmanuel recorded a video asking to pray for rain after months of drought.

We’re so glad to share that after ups and downs, God sent rain and crops have been growing well. Farmers like Gire and Joy in Sirimon, South Sudan have been able to grow maize, okra and beans to feed their families with healthy food.

Please join us in thanking God for His faithfulness, and pray that He would continue to help families in Sirimon reap a harvest after of hope. 🙏

Robin and Liz had a wonderful time at the ReNew Conference UK in Nottingham this week!

It was a joy to reconnect with old friends, make new ones and showcase our work alongside so many amazing organisations. Robin loved catching up with John McLernon, the director of Crosslinks and comparing notes about supporting gospel work in East Africa. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand — it was great to see you! 😀

“Lord, teach us to pray” was the conference theme, and what a great choice! It was so encouraging to hear from church leaders across England who are pioneering, establishing and strengthening healthy, local, Anglican churches — and join together to pray for them and their ministries.

And the music from Joyful Noise wasn’t too bad either… 😉🎶

We leave Nottingham with a deeper desire to pray for God’s glory — in England, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and across the world — and feeling better equipped to do so. 🙏

🔊The sound of happy children who are going back to school!

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our "Back to School" education appeal over the last 2 weeks. We are delighted to have raised £10,322.50- enough to finish three new classrooms at Immanuel School in Yei, South Sudan in time for children to go back to school in January. 📚✏️

With these new classrooms, children will be able to finish their education, learn skills to lift themselves out of poverty and encounter the love of Jesus.

We are so grateful for our supporters' generosity, and to God, our Jehovah Jireh, without whom none of this would be possible 🙌

Why are Christian schools like Immanuel so important for South Sudan? ✝️

Meet Bishop Levi of Yei, who's passionate about education and the gospel. Bishop Levi shares how Immanuel School aims to helps children grow spiritually - and disciple them into godly men and women who can one day make change in South Sudan. 🇸🇸

"In future, when they become leaders of this country, they will be able to fear God in their offices... They will know that "Yes I am alone in this office but God is watching me. I have to be obedient to my God".

When you were in school, what did you want to be when you grew up? 🤔

Meet Ruth* in primary 4 at Immanuel School, sharing her hopes for the future. Ruth wants to be a doctor when she’s older to help suffering people in South Sudan.

“I see the people of South Sudan are tired and some people even die because of sickness. That’s why I need to become a doctor. I will bring them to my hospital here. I can treat them.” 💊🩺

But Ruth needs new classrooms so she can move up to primary 5 in January. Completing her education is the first step to a future job- and gives her a chance to make a difference in South Sudan.

We love this Bible verse, which calls us to take refuge in God in times of trial. It makes us think of churches in South Sudan, which have much to teach their brothers and sisters in other parts of the world about God's faithfulness. 🌍

When corruption, conflict and environmental disaster threaten to upend their world, we have seen time and again Christians finding their refuge in the Lord. And He has been their refuge and ever-present help- sending rain in times of drought, protecting church leaders amidst attacks, comforting them and providing for them in times of sorrow. It is a privilege for us at AID to witness this and we want to share these stories with the world.

Please pray that our partner churches in tough places in South Sudan, Uganda and Kenya would stand firm and continue to find their refuge in the Lord. 🙏

Prayer is essential to everything we do at AID and we are so grateful to all our supporters who pray for gospel projects in South Sudan. 🙏

On the first Monday of every month a small group meet on Zoom to pray for 30 minutes at 8am. We run through our projects, giving up to date information and then present our petitions to God. Why not join us this Monday to see what goes on?

No need to turn on your screen if the house is chaotic at that time in the morning, no need to look perfect, no need even to pray out loud if that's a bit intimidating.

Drinking plenty of water is essential to survive the summer heat! But clean water provides much more than a brief moment of refreshment – it can pour out blessing into entire communities. 💦

Rev John Wato of Walda Parish in Northern Kenya spoke to us about the incredible impact of the borehole drilled thanks to the generosity of AID supporters last year. It’s provided clean, safe water for the whole community to drink, enabled them to start growing a vegetable garden and will even provide a source of income that will fund their mission to the surrounding area.

Rev John says “This borehole is a blessing to us and can support our ministry in this hardship area. Shalom! Continue praying for us”.

Join us in prayer that God would use this borehole powerfully in Walda, pointing towards Jesus, the Living Water. 💧

Sometimes, a small gift doesn't just change one life — it creates opportunities for hope to spread far beyond what we imagined.

When we visited Marsabit Diocese in northern Kenya in May, we met Doko, a widow from the Gabra community near the Ethiopian border. After her husband died, she struggled to provide for her children. Just six months of regular support through small, time-limited cash transfers from AID has enabled her to reopen her market stall, buy livestock, and begin building a more secure future.

But the most beautiful outcome was one we never expected. Doko can now afford fuel for her motorbike, allowing her to travel with other women from her church to nearby villages, where they encourage women facing similar struggles and share the hope of the gospel.

We're so grateful to our supporters for making cash transfer projects like this possible. Investing deeply in a few people today can leave a legacy for generations to come.

Have you been enjoying fish and chips this summer? Have a read of Jane’s story to see how a small loan from AID has helped her set up her very own fish takeaway- reeling in business in Marsabit, Kenya. 🐟🎣

The first in our series of “Summer success stories”, Jane is a great example of how AID’s microfinance projects kickstart income generation so women can provide for themselves in the long term. All she needed was an initial push from the Chemi Chemi Microfinance project – her hard work and creativity did the rest.
