Prayer is essential to everything we do at AID and we are so grateful to all our supporters who pray for gospel projects in South Sudan. 🙏

On the first Monday of every month a small group meet on Zoom to pray for 30 minutes at 8am. We run through our projects, giving up to date information and then present our petitions to God. Why not join us this Monday to see what goes on?

No need to turn on your screen if the house is chaotic at that time in the morning, no need to look perfect, no need even to pray out loud if that's a bit intimidating.

Drinking plenty of water is essential to survive the summer heat! But clean water provides much more than a brief moment of refreshment – it can pour out blessing into entire communities. 💦

Rev John Wato of Walda Parish in Northern Kenya spoke to us about the incredible impact of the borehole drilled thanks to the generosity of AID supporters last year. It’s provided clean, safe water for the whole community to drink, enabled them to start growing a vegetable garden and will even provide a source of income that will fund their mission to the surrounding area.

Rev John says “This borehole is a blessing to us and can support our ministry in this hardship area. Shalom! Continue praying for us”.

Join us in prayer that God would use this borehole powerfully in Walda, pointing towards Jesus, the Living Water. 💧

Sometimes, a small gift doesn't just change one life — it creates opportunities for hope to spread far beyond what we imagined.

When we visited Marsabit Diocese in northern Kenya in May, we met Doko, a widow from the Gabra community near the Ethiopian border. After her husband died, she struggled to provide for her children. Just six months of regular support through small, time-limited cash transfers from AID has enabled her to reopen her market stall, buy livestock, and begin building a more secure future.

But the most beautiful outcome was one we never expected. Doko can now afford fuel for her motorbike, allowing her to travel with other women from her church to nearby villages, where they encourage women facing similar struggles and share the hope of the gospel.

We're so grateful to our supporters for making cash transfer projects like this possible. Investing deeply in a few people today can leave a legacy for generations to come.

The first in our series of “Summer success stories”, Jane is a great example of how AID’s microfinance projects kickstart income generation so women can provide for themselves in the long term. All she needed was an initial push from the Chemi Chemi Microfinance project – her hard work and creativity did the rest.

A few weeks ago the AID team met in London for our annual in-person board meeting (all the others are online!). This is one of the most important days of the year for us as we get to hear from our amazing trustees who have a huge wealth of experience in Christian leadership and international development. We keep costs as low as possible - no fancy venues or posh lunches - but meeting like this spurs us on to keep going, serving the church in South Sudan and Kenya.

“If there’s no rain, most of our people will suffer, which means there will be hunger. So please pray for us as well as we continue to pray for you” 🌧️☔

UK churches – we urgently need your prayers for rain in Rokon, South Sudan. Due to climate change the region has experienced a catastrophic drought for the past 2 months, causing their crops to dry up. Our partner Bishop Emmanuel reached out to us asking for prayers, as the drought is like nothing they have seen before. If there is no rain soon, there will be no harvest and people will go hungry.

Prayer is one of the best ways we can stand in solidarity with our Christian family around the world. Please join us in prayer that our loving God would protect and provide for our brothers and sisters in South Sudan. 🙏

🏍️Why are motorbikes so important for gospel ministry? 🏍️

In the remote nomadic communities of Marsabit in Kenya, there is no public transport, the roads are too rough for bicycles, and very few people own cars. To reach villages scattered across vast distances, Bible teachers often have just two options: walk for hours or travel by motorbike.

That's why motorbikes and fuel are vital ministry tools.

This month, we're raising funds to support gospel workers like David and John, who travel from village to village sharing the good news of Jesus, encouraging believers, and training church leaders.

The church in East Africa is growing.

Anglican Bishops in South Sudan and Kenya have told us that there is an urgent need for trained Bible teachers. We want to step up to this challenge, but we need your help.

This month we are running the 'Gospel workers in hard places' appeal to raise £10,000 to:

🚀 Launch 2 gospel workers into ministry in South Sudan
⛪️Train 2 new theology students in 2027
🔨Provide essential tools for ministry - books, motorbikes, fuel and acommodation for Bible teachers in South Sudan and Kenya

Welcome home to AID staff Robin, Charis and Tabitha, who have safely returned from Kenya and Uganda after an important trip focused on meeting partners, gathering stories and information, and building a deeper understanding of the work on the ground 🇰🇪🇺🇬

It was a privilege to spend time with local church leaders working tirelessly to share the gospel and serve their communities practically. The team loved hearing so many stories of God's faithfulness. Even amidst the hardest circumstances, He is at work!🙌

Yesterday the AID team joined the Vuranige church family in Impevi Settlement Camp, Uganda, for Sunday worship. South Sudanese Christians from the Keliko, Kakwa and Bari tribes have settled in this area after fleeing violent conflict in their homeland.

It was a really joyful service with an amazing choir, who encouraged everyone to sing & dance together to worship God. We said the Creed and the Lord's Prayer together in the Bari language.

We’re deeply encouraged by the faith, perseverance, and gospel witness of the church community here.
