Welcome home to AID staff Robin, Charis and Tabitha, who have safely returned from Kenya and Uganda after an important trip focused on meeting partners, gathering stories and information, and building a deeper understanding of the work on the ground 🇰🇪🇺🇬

It was a privilege to spend time with local church leaders working tirelessly to share the gospel and serve their communities practically. The team loved hearing so many stories of God's faithfulness. Even amidst the hardest circumstances, He is at work!🙌

Scroll to see some of their highlights from the trip - from hearing stories of transformation from microfinance participants in Marsabit, to spending time with South Sudanese Bible teachers, to joyful worship at rural churches.

Thanks for following along on their journey - there's even more to come! Follow us for more stories of God's work through His church in East Africa🌍

Yesterday the AID team joined the Vuranige church family in Impevi Settlement Camp, Uganda, for Sunday worship. South Sudanese Christians from the Keliko, Kakwa and Bari tribes have settled in this area after fleeing violent conflict in their homeland.

It was a really joyful service with an amazing choir, who encouraged everyone to sing & dance together to worship God. We said the Creed and the Lord's Prayer together in the Bari language.

We’re deeply encouraged by the faith, perseverance, and gospel witness of the church community here.

It's been just over a week since Charis and Robin flew from the UK to East Africa.

Their next stop is Arua in Uganda but to get there they need to board this small MAF plane from Entebbe. These essential field visits to meet our partners would be so difficult without the help of Mission Aviation Fellowship flights and we are so thankful for them.

In Arua they are looking forward to meeting the team of Wycliffe Bible Translators who are translating the Bible into the Keliko language as well as visiting South Sudanese communities who fled across the border from South Sudan, escaping violent conflict.

Please pray for them!

Robin, Charis and Tabitha have had an inspiring 5 days in Marsabit, Kenya. 🇰🇪

They visited the new borehole in Walda, met church small groups who are supporting each other to build businesses and earn an income to escape poverty, and visited Wings Academy school where children of the Rendille tribe are receiving an outstanding Christian education 📚❤️

Next stop: South Sudanese refugee camps over the border in Uganda 🇺🇬, where our partner Jok is training Bible teachers 🙏🏾📖.

It is always such an honour to spend time and learn from gospel partners like the hard-working evangelists and pastors in Marsabit and those who work in leadership and behind the scenes to enable gospel work to happen in this vast county. God is at work!

🌍✨ Greetings from Walda in Marsabit, Kenya! 🇰🇪

Charis, Tabitha, and Robin received a warm welcome from the Bishop of Marsabit, Daniel Qampicha and his wife, Sophia.

Yesterday, they travelled to Walda Parish to visit the new borehole made possible through the generosity of AID donors. 💧🙏 It was wonderful to see banana 🍌 and tomato 🍅 plants already flourishing thanks to the new water supply.

They also had the joy of joining Sunday worship at St. Paul’s Church, celebrating together with Christian brothers and sisters.

Thank you to everyone whose support is helping bring clean water and hope to the community of Walda.

Today, AID CEO Robin Whaley and Projects Manager Charis began their journey to East Africa, flying from Heathrow to Nairobi to spend time with partners serving communities across the region. We’d value your prayers for protection, wisdom, and gospel conversations over the coming weeks.

❓Tired of doomscrolling? Here are 5 good news stories from South Sudan and Kenya to encourage you today ☀️

The world can seem a dark place, but God is still at work through His people. Take a moment to see what AID's Christian partners have been up to in East Africa - from providing lifesaving medicines in Rokon, South Sudan to bringing people to faith in Marsabit, Kenya.

Which story encouraged you most?🙌

Ever wondered how to begin praying for the world’s newest nation? 🇸🇸

South Sudan has a population similar to Belgium, yet its land is vast—larger than Ukraine. It’s a place of deep community, rich culture, and remarkable natural beauty. At the same time, many face daily hardship: around 90% of people live on less than $3 a day, with limited access to healthcare and clean water.

About a quarter of the population attends Anglican churches, and many others esteem church leaders highly. Yet most pastors (around 65%) have had little or no formal Bible training.

🙏 Take a moment today to pray for South Sudan—for strength, hope, and support for local believers and leaders as they serve their communities.

Meet Daniel, another South Sudanese student at supported by AID ⛪📚

Daniel started at GWC this January on the foundation course, and is loving deepening his faith through studying Scripture with students from different countries. He has a heart for evangelism, and is excited to take the gospel back to his home town of Aweil, sharing the love of Christ with the lost.

Please join us in prayer that God would bless Daniel in his studies and use him to bring many into God's kingdom 🙏

Happy Easter from all of us at AID! 🐣✝️

What a joy to celebrate Jesus defeating death once and for all by rising from the grave, bringing new life to all who put their trust in Him. We’re praying that Christians in South Sudan and Kenya would find great comfort and joy in this truth today.

He has risen indeed, hallelujah!🙌
