📣 Skills for People are recruiting for a Project Worker in the Positive Behaviour Support Team.

Hours: 16 per week
Pay: £28,410 pa pro rata
Location: Home based with travel across the North East and Cumbria
Duration: 1 year
Closing date: Friday 11th September 2026

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, delivering workshops across Tyne and Wear, Teesside and North Cumbria, to family carers of children and young people who are autistic and/or have a learning disability.

Our work aims to empower family carers to understand and support their children and young people.

📣 Our Be Screening Aware team are running some workshops so you can find out more about routine health screenings.

The sessions are delivered by adults with a learning disability.

The workshops are for people with a learning disability, family members, carers and support workers.

Each workshop includes:
👉 An introduction to screening.
👉 Clear information about the screening programme.
👉 Talking about choice, consent and where to get support.
👉 Interactive activities and quizzes.
👉 A certificate once the workshop is finished.

All sessions take place at Skills for People.

⭐ Another brilliant session with a range of healthcare professionals from GP surgeries, dental practices, local NHS Trusts and more. Great discussions about barriers faced by people with learning disabilities and autistic individuals, and reasonable adjustments that can be made to help overcome these!

⭐ “Loved the training. It was full of life and am in awe of the presenters who shared their experiences and feelings about their stories to us. I came away feeling that this was up there as one of the best trainings I’ve ever attended.
