What’s inside our Baby Box and which bits do babies love most? 👶📦

In our new video, we meet baby Amara and her mum, who show us some of their favourite things from our Baby Box.

For mum, it’s the books and practical items like the thermometer. For Amara? Definitely the noisy toys! 💛

Each Baby Box is packed with carefully chosen items to support learning, bonding and wellbeing, including books, sensory toys, a blanket, changing mat, bath towel, thermometer and safe sleeping space.

Every box is designed to give parents ideas, reassurance and practical support, while encouraging families to laugh, play, read, sing and count together from day one.

The Take £25 Challenge is back for 2026!

We’re thrilled to be teaming up with the University of Sunderland once again for the brilliant annual Take £25 Challenge and this year, the amazing team at Direct Global are sponsoring the challenge.

For the challenge, each team of first-year Business and Management students is given just £25 and challenged to use their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills to turn it into as much money as possible for The Children’s Foundation.

Last year, 24 student teams raised an incredible £12,743.30 for us in just four weeks a record-breaking total and we think this year's students are going to rise to the challenge 🙌

A huge thank you to the University of Sunderland for continuing to support The Children’s Foundation, to every student taking part and to the Direct Global team for getting behind this year’s challenge. 💙

Good luck, everyone - let’s see how far £25 can go! 🚀

🧠 A brilliant night of quizzing for a brilliant cause!

A huge thank you to everyone at Ward Hadaway for hosting a fantastic quiz night last night in support of The Children’s Foundation.

The raffle raised an amazing £1,080! 🎉 and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who bought a ticket, donated a prize and got involved on the night.

💛 More than £16,000 raised and counting! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Our incredible Great North Run 2026 team has now raised over £16,000 for The Children’s Foundation, with donations still coming in.

A huge thank you to every runner, supporter and donor who helped make this year such a success. Your support will help us continue our work with babies, children, young people and families across the North East.

If watching this year’s runners has inspired you to take on the challenge in 2027, we’d love to hear from you! The public ballot closed yesterday, but we have charity places available for anyone who would like to run for The Children’s Foundation.

What a brilliant way to spend a Friday! 💙

A huge thank you to the 25 fantastic employees from Turnitin who joined us for a 6K walk, raising money to support our work with children and families, right on their doorstep.

The team set off from One Strawberry Lane in Newcastle, who very kindly fuelled everyone for the journey with pastries and hot drinks donated in kind, before making their way to Toddling On, our stay and play cafe in Deckham for a tasty lunch prepared by our team.

It was a great opportunity to bring people together, get moving and support the work we do across the region, and we’re really grateful to everyone at Turnitin who took part and helped make the day so much fun! Big thanks to our friends at One Strawberry too for getting everyone off to such a great start! 💙

What an amazing day! 💛

Yesterday, Team TCF came together for our 2026 Strategy Away Day, taking time to reflect, think big and plan for the next three years of The Children’s Foundation.

A huge thank you to Newcastle Building Society and Karen Richardson for welcoming us into the fantastic Community Space at the Monument branch, and to our brilliant facilitator Hagit Amsterdam for guiding us through the day and helping turn lots of ideas, conversations and ambitions into a clear direction.

Thank you too to illustrator Hannah Graham Story Teller for capturing the day so brilliantly through her illustrations, and to Tynemouth Coffee for keeping us fuelled with some seriously good pastries! 🥐☕

We came away feeling energised, focused and incredibly excited about what comes next.

Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be bringing our new three-year strategy to life, with one thing firmly at its heart - that the children of the North East are happy, healthy and safe.

There’s lots more to come – and we can’t wait to share it with you. 💛

WOW - what a day yesterday!🏃‍♂️

We couldn’t be more grateful to every single member of Team TCF who took on the Great North Run for The Children’s Foundation including our Kim McGuinness- North East Mayor!

You are all an inspiration, and every pound you’ve raised helps us continue to Make Serious Stuff Fun for children, young people and families across the North East.

Thank you for every mile, every donation and every bit of support along the way. We hope there aren’t too many sore legs today! 😅

☀️ What a summer! ☀️

From bowling and pottery painting to inflatable fun at Inflataspace, bringing out our competitive side at Fayre Play, boat trips and a brilliant day at the beach, it’s been a summer packed with new experiences, laughter and plenty of smiling faces. 💛

Our summer programme gave children and young people the chance to get out, try something different, spend time with friends and make some brilliant memories along the way.

A huge thank you to Action for Children for teaming up with us and helping make this summer unforgettable for so many children and young people. We loved seeing everyone getting involved and, judging by these photos, we think they did too! 🌊🎳🎨

Less than two weeks to go till the Great North Run and we are full of prep here, with all of our treats coming together for our goody bags, a small token of our thanks to all of our amazing runners!

We had a very special delivery last wee and we want to say a huge thank you to Brew Co. for generously donating beers for all of our runners to enjoy once they’ve crossed that finish line!
