Over the past year, Hannah has been developing The Mosaic Project and The Mosaic Group - an initiative dedicated to supporting people living with dementia who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as their families, carers, and the professionals who support them, through Silverline Memories.

This journey has involved creating specialist training for health and social care professionals, carers, and family members, alongside establishing a safe, welcoming space where LGBTQ+ people affected by dementia can connect, feel understood, and access support without fear of judgement.

The work has opened conversations in an area that has long been underserved, helping to raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people living with dementia and ensuring more people receive the understanding, dignity, and support they deserve.

This work has led to Hannah being nominated and shortlisted for the Rising Star Category at the North East Charity Awards!

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in this vision. Here's to continuing to make dementia support more inclusive for everyone.

This funding has the potential to improve neighbourhoods, strengthen community organisations, increase access to support and services, create opportunities for skills and employment, and enhance local parks, public spaces and community activities.

But for this investment to make a real difference, it is vital that local people have their say.
