Random Acts Network Centre North

Random Acts Network Centre North This is page is no longer being updated. It is an archive for this project that commissioned short films by emerging talent aged 16-24 between 2015-17.

Led by Tyneside Cinema / HOME / True North Productions Random Acts are short films made by artists, not films about artists. They are bold daring and challenging expressions of creativity delivered in short film form. Between 90 seconds and 3 minutes long, they come in many flavours; live action, animation, serious, cheeky and outrageous; made by dancers, poets, visual artists, musicians, writers,

comedians, filmmakers. There are five organisations across England each making 24 films a year between 2015 and 2018. Each film is directed by a young artist or filmmaker between the age of 16 and 24 and completed films have the chance to be showcased on Channel 4’s online and broadcast platforms. Anyone living or studying in the North of England (North East, North West, Yorkshire) should apply to Random Acts Network Centre North – a partnership between Tyneside Cinema (Newcastle), HOME (Manchester), and True North Productions (Leeds).
