Join us next Tuesday, 24 March, 7.30pm Summerhill Bowling Club Pavilion & Gardens as Marion shares The Next Chapter of Wicked & Worthy Women of the Northeast.

This is 87-year-old Marion Anderson. She has been showing Newcastle off on guided tours for 54 years 😮

There's not much about Newcastle that Marion doesn't know. She has seen the city change miraculously since her first tour in 1972.

Marion is set to hang up her walking boots on guiding tours through the city after "blown the trumpet" for the city to guests from all over the world.

Marion admits her decision to retire from guiding walks is a reluctant one. She said: "I have to walk with a stick, and at nearly 88 we're on our feet for over two ours and we get tired; you're responsible for the health and safety of your group and I think it's a bit absurd for an old lady to be doing that!"

We wish you all the best on your retirement, Marion. Thank you for showing off our fantastic city over the years ❤️

Whether it’s 🪡crafting 🌱gardening, 💃dancing 🗣️speaking, organising or trying something completely new, every skill shared helps build confidence and connection. A simple offer to teach or encourage someone can open the door to a new hobby, a new friendship or just a new sense of achievement.🏅

By supporting and learning from one another, we create a community where everyone benefits. When women lift each other up and share what they know, we truly Give to Gain.⭐️

What a lovely session we had at Summerhill WI learning the beautiful art of quilling!
A big thank you to for leading such a creative and therapeutic session.

From curling our first tight coils to shaping petals, leaves and delicate swirls, we learnt how simple strips of paper can turn into something magical. It was wonderful to watch everyone’s unique designs unfold, and even more wonderful to enjoy the laughter, encouragement and creativity around the table.

Here’s to many more crafty evenings at Summerhill WI! 💐✂️💕
