Wishing all of our followers a very happy Christmas!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it.
‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭

What a night! Our St Martin’s Merry Christmas Concert was a blast!

Thank you to the Backworth Colliery Band for joining us alongside our very own Choir as we welcomed in the festive season with a selection of traditional, modern and timeless Christmas music pieces and hymns. We also had a solo from our own Nikita and our resident poet, Andy read two festive pieces from his collection.

Watch out for the full recording coming soon.

Today we join churches across the country in marking Safeguarding Sunday- a time to give thanks for all who work to make our churches and communities safe, caring and welcoming places for everyone.

As we reflect and pray, we remember that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility – our shared expression of God’s love.

The Newcastle Diocesan Safeguarding team can offer support and guidance and can be contacted on: 0191 270 4105.
