☀️Best Summer Ever☀️

This week we have had lots of fun at Riverside!

We started the week off with a stay and play session alongside Healthworks. The children enjoyed chopping some vegetables to make a speedy Biryani before moving on to make a healthy ‘Ice cream’ dessert. The children also enjoyed the bouncy castle, soft play, and some games.

Yesterday we enjoyed a day out at South Shields Beach. The families were so pleased when the sun came out so they could enjoy some time at the beach and the park before ending the day with a yummy ice cream🍦

We hope all of our families have had a lovely time this week! We can’t believe that summer is almost over, let’s hope that we continue to get some lovely sunshine for our last week of the holidays☀️

📣 Poetry competition for young people in Newcastle!

We’re sharing Evry’s “Newcastle Through Your Eyes” competition, inviting young people aged up to 25 who live, study or work in Newcastle to get creative and share what the city means to them.

Your entry could be a poem or another creative piece of writing about your community, favourite places, personal experiences, hopes for the future — or anything that captures Newcastle through your eyes.

🏆 Prizes include a £100 Eldon Square Gift Card, with additional prizes available. Some entries may also be featured in Evry communications, and winning pieces could be performed at a future Evry event.

In less than 24 hours, we will have our FINAL Family Festival at Hodgkin Park! We can't wait to see all of our lovely families come together to enjoy a fun filled day🌞🌈

🫧 Don’t rush home - we have an extra-special finale planned! Things could get very bubbly, so bring a towel and a change of clothes…that’s your final clue! 👀🫧

🌿 QUIET HOUR: 11:15am–12:15pm
There will be no loud music during this hour, and sensory-friendly spaces will be available. Please bring ear defenders if your child requires them.

🥪 A limited number of free packed lunches will be available for children receives Free School Meals. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic, snacks and drinks.

🍦 Please bring cash if you would like to buy treats from the tuck shop, ice cream van or catering truck, as these items are not free.

Please rest assured that we have put additional plans in place to reduce the queuing for signing in! Signing in is critical as it helps us prove how important these events are to local families. Your attendance supports future funding and helps us continue providing FREE festivals and community activities so please do make sure you sign in!
