This place will surprise you.

Last chance to see the Salt & Smoke rise in Blyth tomorrow.

Working with Novo Theatre on this has been an utter joy.

We couldn’t let today go by without getting the Sunderland map back out…

For anyone who didn’t know, You Are Here: Sunderland was our original city trail, built from the stories, memories, music, scran and tiny bits of local magic shared by the people who call Sunderland home.

From pink slices and panackelty in Sunderland to stotties in Newcastle, the idea behind our You Are Here trails is pretty simple: a city told by its people.

Hundreds of Mackems helped us make this one, including the brilliant Sunderland Youth Council, and , with support from .

And the map is still there to explore. Pop your headphones on and follow You Are Here: Sunderland in your own time via the app. Link in bio 🎧

Fresh from taking You Are Here to Newcastle for NOVUM, we’ve got a feeling there are plenty more maps and stories still to come…

For now, here’s a little trip back around Sunderland ❤️🤍

"I’m paying for the danger!”

🎪 Who's going to The Hoppings this week?

We’ve been down a Hoppings-shaped rabbit hole this weekend for You Are Here: NOVUM, unearthing archive photos and collecting people’s memories.

“I don’t care how much money I spend. I’m gonna play hook-a-duck!”

“The Hoppings reminds me of the fairs I used to go to when I was younger... back then we’d have, like, a fiver, and we’d manage to stay there the whole day.”

What’s your favourite Hoppings memory?

🎢 The ride you always head for, but absolutely will not go on? (but somehow always end up on)
🍦 The naughty treat you just can’t leave without?
🏆 The GIANT prize you somehow manage to take home on The Metro?
💛 Your best, weirdest or funniest Hoppings story?

We'd love to hear them! Drop them in the comments ⬇️

📷 Huge thanks to Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums and Newcastle Libraries for letting us raid the vaults for these photos!
