What a fantastic day at Darlington Pride Weekender! It was lovely to see so many of our members out in the sunshine in the Market Square, and marching in the parade.

Dave joined the union block with amongst other, members of Equity, Darlington TUC - Darlington Against Cuts, UNISON Darlington LG, Unite Community Teesside & Durham Branch.

Later Dave joined with his fellow councillors from Darlington Labour and Lola McEvoy - MP for Darlington.

Huge congratulations to all that helped organise this wonderful community event. It was lovely to mix with people of all ages to celebrate and proclaim loudly, it's OK to be LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We'll see you again next year!

Dave is representing the branch at Darlington Pride Weekender today.

A big well known company pulled around £5k of sponsorship money this year because of "the political climate", so local union branches and the local trades council stepped in to help bridge the gap.

Between us, we managed to give the organisers more room to put on their usual brilliant day that celebrates and supports our LGBTQ+ communities.

Dave alongside Darlington Trades Council will be in the parade with banners and flags, alongside local union members. Come and march with us! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
