Reviving the Heart of the West End Our aim is to see people in jobs they love, being their own boss, or employing more people as a result of their business growing.

💙 Empowering people to build confidence, develop skills and turn ideas into businesses, careers and lasting independence — creating brighter futures across our communities. Equally important are the steps you take towards other personal goals to ensure a happy and fulfilled life. Our business is providing workspace with serviced office and workshop units for new and young businesses (smes), at John Buddle Work Village and Buddle House located on Buddle Road, Benwell. We're committed to investing in our local community and have developed a number of initiatives for local people including a community grant fund, scholarship and youth enterprise programme. We have assisted so many businesses looking for good quality space in an excellent location and several hundred local residents have taken part in our activities or benefitted from our grants.

Looking forward to connecting, learning and celebrating all those working to make a difference.

The right support can save a founder hours of searching and help them make better decisions about what to do next.
That is why we’re pleased to have Business and Intellectual Property Centre - North East supporting North East Social Enterprise Day 2026.

Through its regional network, The BIPC gives entrepreneurs and organisations access to specialist knowledge, practical advice and business information that might otherwise be difficult or expensive to find.

For people working in the social sector, that includes one-to-one appointments with Experts in Residence who understand the particular realities of running a social enterprise, charity or CIC.

Our Founder and Managing Director, Kate Duffy, is one of BIPC North East’s social-sector Experts in Residence, supporting founders with questions around social enterprise models, governance, income generation, impact and organisational development. Be sure to check out their full list of over 50 experts!

BIPC North East also provides free access to specialist business databases and software, including GrantFinder, which can help organisations identify relevant funding opportunities and research the options available to them.

These resources are particularly valuable when you have reached the limits of a general internet search and need credible information or support from someone who understands the sector.

Follow BIPC North East to discover its workshops, events and specialist support, and explore how its Experts in Residence and business information resources could help your organisation.

Thank you to the BIPC North East team for continuing to support North East Social Enterprise Day and the region’s changemakers for the fifth year in a row!!

📣We are looking for new business sponsors! 📣

Sponsorship is a simple, meaningful way for your business to support Ouseburn Farm throughout the year.

Your sponsorship will help us care for our animals, grow and protect our green spaces, support our programmes with young people, unemployed people and adults with additional needs, and keep the farm free and welcoming for local visitors.

In return, your business becomes part of our community, with opportunities to
connect your team, customers and clients to a much-loved Newcastle charity.

We have three levels of sponsorship. Your business could join us as:
🌱 A Seeder, for £1k per year
🌿 A Grower for £2k per year
🌲A Cultivator for £3k+ per year

Depending on your level of support, your business will receive group volunteering experiences for up to 10 people, free hire of our events space, invites for staff to our VIP Lamb Feeding session and shout outs on our social media channels.

To find out more or to arrange a chat, please email [email protected]. Thank you! 🐐

✨Why I love my community classes ✨

During my two hours of teaching today, I’ve taught 29 wonderful women who showed up for themselves either doing Pilates or Zumba. During which, we have laughed, sang, danced, stretched, met people, said hi to faces we haven’t seen in a while and much more…

All for no charge to our participants.

It is an absolute pleasure getting to know you all, being apart of your journey and having these experiences with you, and if you haven’t managed to come before, it would be lovely to see you there.

Friday - 9:30am - Throckley Pilates - Bookable via the below link:

*Next week already FULLY BOOKED **

Friday - 12:30 - Benwell Riverside (Carnegie Building) - Just turn up!!
