🌞 Powering a Community Hub for the Future
Thanks to a Β£20,000 grant from the Northern Powergrid Foundation, Cottingham Village Trust has installed solar panels and battery storage at Cottingham Civic Hall, helping to reduce energy costs, cut carbon emissions and strengthen the hall's role as a vital community resource.
The hall supports people of all ages through activities, wellbeing programmes, warm space provision and social events, while also serving as a place of safety during emergencies.
By investing in renewable energy, the Trust can direct more resources towards supporting local people and ensuring the hall remains a welcoming, resilient space for years to come.

πŸ” Hints & Tips: Getting Your Solar & Battery Quotes Right
We're seeing some great applications for community energy resilience projects, but one of the most common reasons applications cannot be funded is because installers are not MCS certified or key aspects of the project aren't included in the quote such as an isolation switch. .
Before submitting your application, please ensure your quote meets our requirements. This helps us make sure we have all the information we need about your installation.
⚠️ Important: Applications for solar and battery projects must be supported by quotes from appropriately accredited installers. Quotes from non-MCS-certified solar installers may result in your application being ineligible for funding.
πŸ“– Full guidance and supporting documents can be found in our Extra Resources section:

πŸ’‘ Taking a few minutes to check your quotes now could save valuable time later and help bring your community one step closer to greater energy resilience.
