A new Marie Curie poll reveals that 7 in 10 bereaved people say spending time in nature helps them process their grief and remember someone they have lost. Many also say gardens and green spaces help them feel calmer, comforted and better able to cope during life's most difficult moments.
As Marie Curie celebrates 30 years of partnership with the National Garden Scheme, we're encouraging everyone to discover the healing power of nature by visiting one of the thousands of beautiful gardens open across the UK this summer.

Afternoon Tea Week 🫖🍰

Most people simply turn up for afternoon tea with a cake stand already waiting for them. Not our ladies! Armed with drills, safety goggles, determination, and a healthy sense of adventure, they got stuck in and built their very own afternoon tea plate stands from scratch 🍰

Of course, once the stands were completed, there was only one thing left to do... put them through some very rigorous testing!

Quality assurance is taken seriously here, so each stand was carefully loaded with an irresistible selection of cakes, scones, sandwiches, and sweet treats 🧁

Thankfully, every single one passed the test with flying colours, although a few of the cakes mysteriously disappeared during the inspection process!

Who knew a Ladies’ Shed session could combine DIY skills, teamwork, creativity, and afternoon tea so perfectly? From power tools to pastries, our ladies proved that they could turn their hands to absolutely anything!

A fantastic afternoon filled with laughter, friendship, craftsmanship, and, most importantly, delicious delights. ☕🍰🔨👷‍♀️💕

💛Fundraising My Way Fridays 💛

We are so grateful to long term supporter Eileen McNulty who raised a whopping £2,122 at her Blooming Great Tea Party in July 🫖

Eileen was supported by many friends and family, as well as local organisations and the general public to make her event a huge success 💛

From a tombola to cake stalls, raffles and more, everyone had a wonderful time and raised a wonderful amount that will make a difference to Marie Curie 💛
