Chase Park Whickham has again received a Green Flag Award this year, as well as Heritage Site status for the second year running.
Whickham Chase Park Gardeners volunteer alongside two other voluntary groups: Whickham Bowling Club & Chase Park Community Group. Together, we keep the park accessible for the public, facilities open and the bowling green maintained.

The groups are always welcoming new volunteers to help with tasks around the park. If you love gardening, come to visit our friendly team on a Wednesday between 10-11.30am, and see what we do.
Whickham Bowling Club welcome new members - Saturday is an opportunity for anyone to come to the pavilion to try their hand at bowling. Just turn up and join in!

Whickham Chase Park Gardeners have been busy this morning, putting wood chip on the new planted areas, and also on the long flower beds near Millfield Rd.
Trying to keep the weeds at bay is a full time job in the summer!! 🌞

Whickham Chase Park Gardeners are pleased to learn Chase Park has again been awarded the Green Flag and Heritage Site status for another year. Well done to all volunteers for keeping our park accessible and maintained, and for caring for our community.
Chase Park Community Group (annual fair) and Whickham Community Bowls Club who also maintain the bowling green.
It's great to see the park being used by our community!
In addition to the awards, Chase Park was able to secure Pride in Place funding, which the gardeners have started to use in new planting projects. We've added a new planted border and roses to the sunken garden and rose garden areas.
Please help us to keep these areas tidy and safe for everyone

The gardening team did a great morning's work, path clearing, weeding and then adding wood chip to the border near Millfield Rd entrance 🌳🦋🐝🌸🪻

The stable block retaining wall was saved and restored during the building of the houses, and three cherry trees planted as part of the regeneration project. The area will see some further planting with shrubs and climbing roses in the coming months 🐝🦋🐞🌹🌳
