Busy bees today.... paths cleared up by the bowling green, then the centre flower bed under the tree was weeded and wood chip added. The wood chip helps to protect the soil from excess drying in the sun and waterlogging in our wetter months. And more importantly, keeps the ever growing weeds to a minimum!

☀️Chase Park had a visit from the lovely Cubs this evening, who did a fabulous job of sweeping the paths and collecting up the litter. What a brilliant team!🏆Thank you all for your hard work 😍

The Whickham Chase Park Gardeners had a productive day yesterday. The raised beds in the community garden were weeded and had some of our leaf compost added to them. The flower bed, crammed full of daffodils, was weeded and edged by two of our lovely volunteers 🐞🌷🌼🪻🐝

While the Whickham Chase Park Gardeners have been keeping warm indoors over winter, Gateshead Council have been working hard cutting back shrubs and clearing paths. It's a huge help to the volunteer gardeners when we come back in better weather, we can do other important jobs 🥳🌿🌳🪵🍀🌼🪻
