Crisis Skylight Newcastle supports people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.

Crisis Skylight Newcastle is dedicated to ending homelessness. We offer a wide range of activities and accredited courses, as well as advice and support to help people into a home, training and employment.

What a day at the Great North Run!! This has been such a special day celebrating our fantastic runners, who have all committed so many early mornings and weekends to train and raise vital funds to end homelessness.

We have been really blown away by the time and effort that each of our runners have put into their journey, all in aid of Crisis.

A truly iconic day. 👏

Homelessness is far more than the absence of a home.

Homelessness impacts every aspect of life, erodes self-worth, and creates barriers that can feel impossible to overcome.

Everyday we see the devastating impact that being without a safe home has on people’s health, relationships and life chances.

With your support, we can build a stronger society for us all and make a real difference to the lives of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Help us to raise awareness of the difficulties many people are experiencing, collectively challenge the existing systems, and to look after each other.

What an end to the year! It really does take a whole village to help us bring such wonderful support and companionship to our members.

It's not been easy. 2024 has been a hostile landscape for so many of those in need of support and a home; the cost of living crisis and lack of affordable homes has continued to expose more people to the risk of homelessness.

We're so grateful for the impactful work our amazing volunteers, fundraisers and colleagues do at Crisis Skylight Newcastle, always keeping the people we support at the heart of our decisions 💜

Here's to a brighter new year. We're looking forward to the impact we can make together in 2025.

🎊 🎄 Merry Christmas from Crisis Skylight Newcastle!

It's been a month filled with awe-inspiring moments. We've been lucky to witness the incredible impact of our community coming together, from members sharing new experiences together to the joy of seeing former members return to volunteers ♥️.

We’ve been inspired by the support shown towards our members and our team here in Newcastle. While Christmas can bring feelings of loneliness and isolation for many, thanks to your generosity, our members have had the opportunity to make new memories. Together, we've created a space of care, hope, and connection.

There’s still much more to be done to tackle homelessness, and we’re more committed than ever to creating lasting change. With your continued support, we can build a future where everyone has a place to call home.

POV: You're in charge of putting together seasonal stew recipe kits for more than 100 of our members😍

This Christmas, we're focusing on how we can offer our members small steps which will empower them to develop their independence for future years.

We are unbelievably proud to say we have been able to offer a gift hamper, a slow cooker and ingredients to prepare a seasonal stew to all of our members, so they can gain autonomy and enjoy their own day of festive celebrations. 🥕 🥗

📣 A special mention to Dole who have provided the vegetables we are using in our recipe kits for free (!) and Lowes Financial Management and Tyne Tunnels for helping us to purchase slow cookers.

🎄 Day One of Crisis Gift Hampers Complete! ✅👏

Today has been nothing short of incredible, thanks to the hard work and generosity of our volunteers, our Skylight has been buzzing with activity💞. From delivering gift hampers to members, adding the final touches to slow cooker presents, to preparing seasonal stew ingredients for our recipe kits – it’s been a day full of kindness 😍

We're proud to offer our members a whole pantry of donated items, a restocked clothing store and a whole hamper filled with gifts.

We’re grateful to our volunteers for helping us pull off this herculean effort – we can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow! 💖

Our Carol Service was a powerful reminder of the change we can make together. Over 400 supporters gathered in Newcastle Cathedral, all united in the mission to end homelessness in the North East.

This evening left us feeling so proud and optimistic for the future. From listening to our members share their powerful stories, singing along with the phenomenal Rock Choir North East • Choirs led by Rob Slater and witnessing the creativity showcased within our member's exhibition, this was such a magical evening spent celebrating the strength and resilience of our community.

Our community gives us hope. Ending homelessness is possible, and together, we will make it happen.
