So many children have lost so much following the devastating earthquakes that struck on 24 June.
"A wall hit me and a guy came over; he said, ‘Hold on tight and don’t let go." said Jorge.
For children like Jorge, football can be an escape, a way to forget about the tragedy.
DEC member charities are working hard in Venezuela to bring vital aid to many families. This includes creating child friendly spaces and providing psychosocial support.
More funds will help families in urgent need during this devasting crisis.

For one week this May (13–20th), we're bringing hope into the open. Because hope is often quiet - it doesn't make headlines. But it's right outside our doors.

It’s what brings us together.

Simon Pegg, Dr Amir Khan, Dame Kelly Holmes and Rosie Jones went to find some of these hopeful heroes - and share a very heartfelt thank you.

Tonight is Comic Relief! This video is an example of the brilliant work they do around the world.

'“Ever since I was a child, I’ve wanted to help the people of my
country in times of crisis. The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is the best organisation for this.”

Promila, her daughter in law Mita, and her granddaughter Pyushi had built their lives across generations in Southeastern Bangladesh. Their home was a place of shared meals, family routine, and the small everyday moments that make a life feel steady.

But in August 2024, devastating floods tore through their community. Rising waters forced families to flee, destroyed farmland, and swept away the family’s home, along with most of their belongings. In a single night, everything changed.

Amid the chaos, youth volunteer Julhas stepped forward. He had admired the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society since he was a boy, and during the floods he became part of its rapid response, an effort funded by Comic Relief. Through their vast network of volunteers, they reached families quickly, focusing first on the essentials like clean drinking water, food, safe shelter.'

Comic Relief can continue funding life changing organisations like the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, ensuring families affected by crisis have the support they need to rebuild, recover, and move forward with dignity.
