Connecting Communities, Sharing Solutions πŸ’š

Recently, we brought together our amazing food members at two Community Partners Forums to share insights, explore challenges, and find practical solutions together. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening across our communities.

From reducing food waste and improving our service, to sharing best practice and strengthening collaboration, the conversations were both inspiring and impactful.

At our Middlesbrough session, our Community Chef created a delicious meal using surplus ingredients including Thai green curry, Bombay-style potatoes, and homemade bhajis and naan. A great example of how surplus food can be transformed while sparking meaningful discussions around reducing waste and sharing resources.

A huge thank you to Whitley Bay Big Local for hosting our Newcastle session. It was brilliant to meet in a space that plays such an important role in the community through its Surplus Shop, which we are proud to support with food.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your passion and ideas make all the difference. We’re excited to keep the conversation going!

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to support us - from picking and packing deliveries to helping with essential warehouse duties. In just one day, you helped us move an incredible 1.8 tonnes of food! 🍏

Taking place during Volunteers’ Week, this was a perfect opportunity to celebrate and recognise the amazing people who help us get good food to good causes every day. πŸ’š
