What a day! ⚽

Thanks to MFC Foundation, some of our volunteers had the chance to attend last week's match against Wolves as part of Middlesbrough FC's 150th anniversary celebrations.

For several volunteers, it was their very first live football match, making the experience even more special!

We're incredibly proud of our volunteers and grateful to MFC Foundation for creating memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for your generosity and support.

🏃‍♀️ From the Great North Run to the FareShare North East warehouse! 💚

Ashley knows just how much of a difference good food can make. Through her work at Spennymoor Youth and Community Association, one of our incredible food members, she cooks weekly meals for local people using FareShare food. So, when it came to choosing a charity for this year's Great North Run, she chose FareShare North East - and what a difference she made! 🎉

Together, Ashley and her family raised enough to help us distribute the equivalent of more than 2,270 meals across the North East.

Recently, Ashley popped into our warehouse to see the other side of FareShare, from where the food comes from to how it gets out to community groups across the region.

She also caught up with volunteer drivers David and Lynne, who deliver to the centre every week. Ashley describes them as "a credit to FareShare" and we couldn't agree more! 👏

A huge thank you to Ashley, her family, and volunteers like David and Lynne, who help turn good food into real support for local communities every single day.

Who knows... maybe we'll see Ashley back for Great North Run 2027? 😉

Potatoes, chicken and milk topped the list in September! 🥔🥛

Throughout the month, we redistributed an incredible 179 tonnes of food across the North East.

To put that into perspective, that’s:
🚌 The equivalent weight of 15 double-decker buses
🍽️ Enough food to make around 427,200 meals

Behind those numbers is good food being put to good use, supporting communities across our the North East rather than going to waste.

That’s a lot of good food doing good things. 💚

A big thank you to the Newcastle University students who joined us in the warehouse yesterday! 💚

They rolled up their sleeves to pick and pack orders for community groups across the North East, and helped tray up locally grown swedes ready to be picked for orders the following day. 🥕

If you’re a student looking to build your CV, meet new people and make a difference in your community, volunteering with us is a great place to start.

Garrett the Carrot has officially joined the delivery crew! 🚚🥕

On his first run, Garrett visited Shotton Community Centre and Middlesbrough Community Grocery, two of our incredible food members who ensure our surplus food is reaching local communities and making a real difference. 💚
