Did you know that we offer Oliver McGowan Tier 2 training? The training is mandatory for health and social care staff and recommended for anyone else who works with Autistic people and/or people with a Learning Disability. Our lead trainer, Sacha, and our co-trainers are proud to deliver training that puts lived experience at the heart of learning.

On this year, we wanted to share a lovely snap from one of our recent Meet and Mooch sessions, to highlight the vital link between meaningful connections and wellbeing. Connection with others is key to how we think, feel, and cope with life’s challenges. Yet, so many adults with learning disabilities and autism face social isolation.

By running our long-standing mentoring programme and inclusive social groups — like our regular Meet and Mooch sessions — we’re proud to create safe spaces where everyone can catch up, chat, and connect.

Today, try and check in on a friend, lean into open conversations, and support the organisations making connection possible. 🙌

We are delighted to announce that Friends Action North East has received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund! 💜

This amazing support means that we can continue our vital work across the North East. It allows us to keep running our long-standing mentoring programme and our inclusive social groups.
