Residential Ready!! Thanks to the continued support from The Badur Foundation we are able to take our Byker Futures youth group on a 4 day trip to the Lake District 🌄 We’re all prepped and ready to go on Monday, how amazing do this years hoodies look thanks to Mark One87 | Mural, Graffiti & Community Artist who designed merch as part of our rebrand! We can’t wait to get going and see what our young people can achieve 🤩

And just like that, the final day of our alternative education programmes for 2025/26 are finished. What an absolutely incredible year it’s been.
To say we are proud would be an understatement. This year, we’ve had the privilege of meeting some of the most amazing young people, sharing laughs, overcoming challenges, and making unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. We have truly loved working with every single one of you. 💛
Every single one of you who walked through our doors this year showed up with passion, determination, and true grit. Please never forget how incredibly important, capable, and valued you are. Your potential is limitless.
Keep your head held high, believe in yourself, and have the most amazing summer! You’ve earned it.

Discover how easy it is to grow fresh herbs, salads and flowers in even the smallest of spaces. In this friendly, hands-on workshop, gardening expert Mark Ridsdill Smith of Vertical Veg will share simple techniques for growing successfully on balconies, patios, windowsills and doorsteps. You’ll learn how to choose the right plants, repot supermarket herbs, sow seeds and care for your containers—and you’ll take home your own potted mint plant and seed tray to get you started.

No gardening experience is needed.

Walker is set to receive £20 million over the next ten years through the Government's Pride in Place Programme – a major investment that will help improve local spaces, services, activities and opportunities across the area.

Pride in Place is about creating stronger, more connected communities. Funding can support improvements to public and green spaces, make services easier to access and help local arts & culture groups and activities to thrive.

As part of this programme, we're inviting Walker residents to join a series of community workshops to help shape the future of the area.

We want to hear:
🌟 What you love about Walker
🌟 What you'd like to see improved
🌟 Your priorities for the future
🌟 How Pride in Place funding should be invested

Your ideas will help inform future plans and investment decisions, ensuring local people have a voice in shaping Walker's future.
