Northumbria Walking Group

Northumbria Walking Group Welcome to the Northumbria Walking Group, The Ramblers charity affiliated group based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Please join our hiking group below…

The Ramblers has a long history of campaigning since 1935 for hikers to roam the countryside freely. Welcome to public page of the Northumbria Walking Group, part of the Ramblers. Our group was originally founded to encourage younger walkers into the Ramblers community but we have no age limits. This just means most of our walks and events are focused around the weekends and evenings. We

are based in and around the Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland and Durham areas. We lead a wide range of walks across the North East of England and further afield with a healthy calendar of social events which include trips abroad, theatre, restaurant, cinema, live music evenings and art exhibitions. We welcome new members and do offer 2 free trial walks. For subsequent walks we ask everyone to join the Ramblers Charity - http://www.ramblers.org.uk/become-a-member.aspx allocating their membership to the Northumbria Walking Group. This group has helped and continues to help the most vulnerable people in our society- those with mental health illnesses. This group is so vital to the wellbeing of its members and I encourage people to join from all backgrounds cultures and communities to help us to continue to thrive and to help each other. Through hiking it helps and is shown to help mental health issues. It has helped me personally and members to ensure we get the social networking, make friends, talk and support each other through walking in nature. This, I believe is beyond priceless.

You are not alone in this fight, together we will make this day/ night better
