We are a charity supporting adults, children & young people who care for someone in Newcastle. A safe space for carers to talk, be heard, and supported.

Do you look after someone who needs help and support regularly? If they could not manage without your help, and you are not employed to do this, then you are a carer. Anyone can be a carer, at any time in their life. We support carers of all ages looking after a friend or family member who is ill, disabled, or has mental health problems or addiction linked to drugs or alcohol. At Newcastle Carers, we know how hard it can be to look after someone, and we’re here to help with information, advice and support. Newcastle Carers Centre is based on Shields Road in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, and we provide information and advice services in the community around Newcastle for carers to get the right information and support to help them in their caring role. 📣Save the date for Carers Rights Day 2026!

This year, Carers Rights Day is on Thursday 19 November. It'll focus on the question: 'Someone you know is a carer - but do they know it yet?'

Carers Rights Day is an annual campaign (organised by Carers UK) designed to increase awareness about carers’ rights and ensure carers receive all the entitlements and support available to them.

After receiving support from one of our Young Carers Workers, Max finally had the chance to meet other young carers who understood what he was experiencing.❤️

He now attends our group for young carers and receives ongoing support in the way he finds most comfortable.

Our Chair Pilates sessions have started again!🧘‍♀️

They're led by Emma, a carer and Pilates instructor. It’s a welcoming, pressure-free space where you can release tension, focus on relaxation, move at your own pace and take some time for you.❤️
