EWB Newcastle

EWB Newcastle EWB Newcastle is Newcastle University's branch of the international development agency Engineers Without Borders UK (EWB-UK). WHO? WHY? HOW? solar, wind.

EWB is an international development organisation that removes barriers to development through engineering. EWB consists of student, graduate and professional engineers, NGO's (non-governmental organisations) and companies across the globe, including the US, Canada, Australia and Germany. Across the UK there are over 25 University Branches. Across the Globe millions of people are living in poverty,

this means they don't have access to shelter, food, sanitation, energy and or healthcare. EWB are therefore working to bring sustainable solutions to these problems using their knowledge of engineering and technology. SO WHAT will EWB Newcastle be doing? We will be running workshops that look into solving some of the problems faced by these developing countries, examples are working on more efficient and sustainable ways of providing energy e.g. Also looking at developing more efficient stoves, water pumps and shelters. You will have the opportunity to travel to other universities and take part in their training events and workshops. OUTREACH
This involves going into local schools to run workshops, therefore promoting the importance of sustainability, environmental awareness and development to pupils and young students. WANT TO KNOW MORE? Visit: http://www.ewb-uk.org/
