Well done to all our cadets who undertook their Bronze The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition this weekend! Following the completion of their training last month along with cadets from 2510 West Denton Squadron RAFAC they trekked from Tunstall Reservoir near Wolsingham all the way up to Shotley Grove near Shotley Bridge, camping out overnight in Muggleswick. The teams aimed to investigate the historical points of interest along their journey and found plenty to write up about!

Thanks to CI Treleaven and Fg Off Watson for their supervision and assessment of the expedition.

A huge thank you to everybody who supported 2344 (Longbenton) Squadron at our fundraising collection in Asda on Saturday.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of shoppers and supporters, our cadets raised an amazing £1210 for the Squadron 👏

The money raised will help support opportunities and activities for our cadets, including training, equipment, camps, expeditions, and community events throughout the year.

We would also like to thank:

* the staff at Asda for hosting us,
* everyone who donated,
* and of course our cadets and staff who gave up their Saturday to support the collection.

Your support genuinely makes a difference to the opportunities we can provide for young people in our community. 🇬🇧✈️

Following the Reaffirmation of the Freedom of the Borough, a team of 4 of our cadets along with Flt Lt Hartwell, CI Treleaven, and CI Istrat had a quick turnaround to don their camping gear and head up to RAF Spadeadam to catch the second half of this year’s Wing Adventure Training Challenge.

Joining over 20 other ATC squadrons from across Durham Northumberland Wing, our cadets participated in competitions in Mountain Biking Skills, First Aid, Archery and Orienteering. The weather was a pleasant change from the rain we had at the parade on Saturday, with ice heading into Sunday morning!

Today, 2344 (Longbenton) Squadron proudly took part in the Reaffirmation of the Freedom of the Borough of North Tyneside; a hugely significant occasion in the Squadron’s history and relationship with the local community.

Beginning with a parade and followed by a service at St Bartholomew’s Church, the event brought together civic leaders, distinguished guests, cadets, families, friends, and supporters of the Squadron.

Despite the weather, our cadets performed exceptionally throughout the day and represented both the Squadron and the RAF Air Cadets with real pride, professionalism, and maturity. They were a credit to themselves and to North Tyneside.

We would like to thank everyone who attended, supported, and helped organise such a memorable day - particularly St Bartholomew’s Church for hosting the service.

A proud day for 2344 Squadron. 🇬🇧✈️

Can you help our colleagues over at Blyth Air Cadets locate their stolen trailer?

Hi, our compound was broken into over the weekend and our trailer filled various tents, gazebos, sports equipment etc. stolen. The purpose of this post is to see if anyone has seen this trailer and/or any further information as to where it is or who stole it. Our compound is opposite the Crematorium on Cowpen Road. If you do have info then please let us know, the equipment and trailer were bought following extensive fundraising by the cadets themselves and are very expensive to replace!
