Cost of living lobby.
Organised by UNISON alongside the Cost of Living Action coalition this week, the lobby gave members the opportunity to speak directly to their MPs about what they want to see from the government’s budget. The lobby was featured on Channel 4 news with members from our region.
UNISON is demanding four things:
1️⃣Investment in public services: proper funding for the services we all rely on, and the workers who deliver them.
2️⃣Fair pay: pay rises that recognise our contribution and help workers keep up with the cost of living.
3️⃣Insourcing now: bringing services back in-house, improving conditions and making sure public money is spent for the public good.
4️⃣Wealth taxes: making those with the broadest shoulders pay their fair share to fund the services we all need.
These demands are at the heart of UNISON’s We Show Up campaign, highlighting the vital contribution our members make every day to patients, pupils, service users and communities.
