Research from the University of Neuchatel (where our chairman studied some years ago,) has found that gorillas use a surprisingly democratic process to decide where and when to travel to forage for food in spite of the silverback’s dominance of the group.

The research group from the University and the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle analysed the vocalizations of three groups of gorillas to determine how they choose when and where to go. Surprisingly, despite the dominance of the silverback, the decision making was a democratic process with lots of chat 😄
