Come and spend some time with your local Tiny Forest!
Did you know there’s a little woodland growing right on your doorstep in Bensham?

Living Woods is inviting the local community to join us at Bensham Grove Tiny Forest on Friday afternoon. It’s a lovely opportunity to discover what makes these small woodlands so special and lend a helping hand.

Friday 23rd October
3:30pm – 6:30pm
Bensham Grove Tiny Forest, Bensham, NE8 2XP
You can get involved in simple woodland maintenance, learn more about the wildlife and biodiversity these forests support, and take part in some citizen science along the way. No need to stay for the whole session – just pop along when you can!
Every little action helps our young woodlands thrive and creates a greener future for our communities.

Next week is a great chance to find out. We're joining Living Woods CIC at three local Tiny Forests in Westerhope, Fawdon and Bensham Grove, where you can learn more about these amazing little woodlands and help care for them if you'd like.

No experience needed, just curiosity and suitable outdoor clothing!

We had such a fantastic day on Saturday at NatureFest in Sunderland's new Culture House. 💚

What an amazing space, and really good to spend the day alongside so many organisations helping people connect with nature and the outdoors.

We spoke to lots of families, children and local residents about the work we do across the North East, including opportunities to volunteer, tree planting wildlife, hedgerows seeds, fruits and even hedgehogs and foxes! 🦔🦊

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. We loved hearing your stories answering questions and sharing ways to get involved in looking after nature close to home.

Thanks also to Dianne and the team at Sunderland council for inviting us along and for the great organisation. 🙌
