🌟 What another fabulous day our families have had! This time, we visited the beautiful Ford & Etal Estate in North Northumberland for a day full of adventure, exploration and special memories.
We began at Heatherslaw Light Railway, enjoying a wonderful journey alongside the River Till to the picturesque village of Etal, where families had time to explore the castle and village.
After returning by train to Heatherslaw Mill, families enjoyed visiting the craft shop, mill, shops and café before heading on to the lovely village of Ford.
At Ford, with its quaint cottages, Lady Waterford Hall and the castle, PGL provided a fantastic action-packed afternoon of activities including disc golf, trapeze, problem-solving tasks and the challenge course.
A huge thank you to the PGL team for making sure the activities were accessible and inclusive for all children, especially our sight impaired children and those with additional needs. The care, encouragement and adaptations provided meant everyone could take part, build confidence and enjoy the experience in a way that worked for them.
We saw some incredible reactions from the children (and grown ups), from overcoming fears, to working together, supporting one another and trying something new. We even had a hoist enabling one of our newest members, who uses a wheelchair, to go high up in the air so that everyone was truly included.
We would like to say a very special thank you to Heatherslaw Light Railway, Lord Joicey and PGL for their superb support in helping create such an incredible day and lasting memories for all who attended. 💙
