💙Men’s Health Week💙

Did you know that around 3 in 4 suicides in the UK are men?

Behind this statistic are fathers, sons, brothers, partners, friends and colleagues. Too many men feel they have to suffer in silence, but reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

This Men’s Health Week, let’s encourage open conversations about both physical and mental health, check in on the men around us, and remind everyone that support is always available.

A simple conversation could make all the difference and could even save a life💙

If you need support:
📞 Samaritans – 116 123 (free, 24/7)
💬 SHOUT text service – text SHOUT to 85258 (24/7)
📞 NHS 111 (option 2 for urgent mental health support in many areas)

💗Because of Amy💗

Amy was just 19 years old when she lost her life to Ewing’s Sarcoma — the same age as Megan, and the same devastating cancer.

When Megan was diagnosed, we were told how rare Ewing’s Sarcoma was. Yet through connecting with families like Amy’s, we’ve come to realise that while it may be classified as rare, far too many young people and families are affected by it. The awareness simply isn’t there.

In Amy’s memory, her family have launched the Because of Amy campaign and are calling for improved cancer awareness and training for GPs, helping healthcare professionals recognise potential cancer red-flag symptoms earlier and reduce delays in diagnosis. (UK Petitions)

We are proud to support Amy’s family and help share her story. Please take a moment to read, sign and share their petition:

Sign Amy’s Petition - https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/765360?utm_id=97757_v0_s00_e227_tv0 -content

Because every young person deserves the chance of an earlier diagnosis.

💛A Story That Reminds Us Why We Fight💛

Reading stories like this is heartbreaking. A young woman from South Shields has been told she has less than a year to live after her rare cancer returned, turning her world and her family’s upside down. Every young person facing cancer deserves hope, support, and access to better treatments.

At Megan’s Rose of Hope, this is exactly why we continue our mission. Founded in memory of Megan Kelly, who lost her own battle with Ewing Sarcoma at just 19 years old, we work to raise awareness, support young people aged 11–25 diagnosed with cancer, and fund vital research into childhood and young adult cancers.

🌼A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our awareness stand at Asda Metrocentre today!🌼

We loved meeting so many supportive people, sharing Megan’s Rose of Hope, and raising awareness of the impact cancer has on young people and their families💛

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to run our tombola, but all prizes will be transferred to our upcoming auction raffle – watch this space!🎟️

Thank you to everyone who donated, asked questions, and showed such kindness and generosity. Your support means so much✨
