This week the Beavers inished off the Navigator badge stage 1 with some orienteering and basic map reading skills in Paddy Freeman's. We looked at map orientation, and location finding.

Meanwhile Cubs had a games night!
A fun packed evening of:

* Heads down, thumbs up
* Human skittles - pushed on a skateboard
* Dodgeball
* Indoor Hockey

Thanks to all our adult helpers!

Yesterday we attended the Beavers 40th Birthday party in Jesmond Dene, arranged by District - City of Newcastle Scouts. There was a hike through the Dene where we had to complete a photo competition, followed by a picnic and games.

We couldn't have attended this without our parent helpers - so a huge thanks for everyone who gave up their time to go help.

100th Newcastle recently had a fantastic trip to Ford Castle!
There was a Zip Wire, Archery, Laser tag, climbing, team building and campfires! This is the second year we have visited Ford Castle and its such a fantastic weekend. Thanks to all the staff at Ford Castle, and our leaders, volunteers and the kids themselves for making such a success of the trip!

The Scout Group needs more adults to help with the Group and run the Group.

Giving up time to help doesn't have to involve running and leading sessions and camps / residentials (although we do want more Section Leaders), we really need Assistants to support the leaders, and someone to take on the role of the Group Lead Volunteer.

We are also looking for someone to take on a Quartermaster role - to manage our equipment and supplies. We also need additional Trustees to oversee the Group. These roles don't involve directly working with our young people and running sessions.

If you would like more information please either drop us an email or speak to a leader on a Monday after the session.
