🌊🚣‍♀️ On 27th September we’re Taking on the NE1 Dragon Boat Race – And Supporting a Worthy Cause! 🧡

We’re excited to be paddling for a purpose at the NE1 Dragon Boat Race 2025, and this year, we’re proud to be raising funds for the Great North Children’s Hospital – one of the largest and most vital children’s hospitals in the UK.

Thousands of children and young people from across the North East, Cumbria, and beyond rely on the incredible care and specialist services at GNCH. And with your help, we can make a real difference.

💡 Here’s how your donation can help:
£25 = A Chemo Duck toy to help a child understand cancer treatment through play
£50 = Funds vital research into childhood illnesses
£255 = Supports creative art workshops for young patients
£360 = Provides practical and financial advice for families in hospital
£1,354 = Buys a gaming kart to distract and comfort children during treatment

We’ve already kick-started our support by entering the race — a portion of our entry fee goes directly to the hospital — but we want to do even more 💪

Last night, 6 of our Brethren made the journey to Amble and specifically Lord Warkworth Lodge to witness an excellent 2nd degree ceremony. We then carried on our yearly tradition of dining in a local Indian restaurant. A very enjoyable evening and a great way of getting back into the swing of things after our recess ends this month
