We wanted to let you know about some important and exciting changes taking place with the Grassboots project. Over the last few years we've been struggling to have the capacity to run Grassboots on our own with limited time, resources and space for storage.
So, we're delighted that the Tyneside Community Store in Wallsend is going to help us deliver a Grassboots shop as part of their store in Wallsend. They are an amazing community focussed organisation who share a lot of the same passions and values as we do. It will mean that people will have access to free and low cost footwear and sports clothing 6 days a week and be able to try them on in store. This helps the project to be far more accessible and sustainable going forward and the store will continue to be supported by our partner Northumberland FA with donations of kit and footwear.
So, please be patient as we transfer stock over to the store over the next few weeks. Our click and collect website www.grassboots.uk will continue to operate until things are fully transferred and we are working with other partners to explore how that may continue to operate.
If you are outside of the Tyneside area, we have been supporting an amazing project called the The Harvey McWilliams Foundation who offer a similar service to Grassboots from their base in and around the Darlington area so please check them out.
