The Igbo Union Stoke-on-Trent UK (IUS) is a non-profit organization established in 2022 by a dedicated assembly of Igbo residents residing in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK. Our central mission revolves around nurturing and perpetuating Igbo culture and heritage, extending unwavering support to our valued members, and actively contributing to the advancement of both our Stoke-on-Trent community

and Igbo land in Nigeria. Over recent years, the IUS has undergone remarkable growth and currently boasts an estimated membership of 150 individuals. Our organization wholeheartedly commits to curating a diverse spectrum of events and initiatives year-round. These encompass vibrant cultural festivals, enriching educational workshops, and engaging social gatherings, all thoughtfully designed to celebrate our heritage and cultivate a profound sense of community. At the core of IUS's unwavering dedication is the empowerment of our members within the UK and the steadfast advocacy for global recognition of Igbo culture and heritage. We take immense pride in serving as a pivotal resource for Stoke-on-Trent's Igbo community and are deeply honoured to be affiliated with esteemed bodies such as the Igbo Association Europe and Igbo Unions Worldwide. The Igbo Union Stoke-on-Trent (IUS) stands resolute as the overarching organization uniting Igbo natives, offering them a platform for collaborative endeavours aimed at realizing a shared vision of unity and progress for our cherished members and their families. The association is guided by a set of clear and purposeful objectives:

1. Fostering Togetherness: Promoting a sense of togetherness and brotherhood among its members through meaningful social and cultural interactions.
2. Protecting Igbo Interests: Safeguarding the interests of Igbo Indigenes and Igbo people in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, while nurturing a harmonious relationship between the association and the local community.
3. Information Hub: Providing members with relevant information related to their interests and facilitating cooperation and support networks among members.
4. Positive Development: Actively participating in initiatives aimed at making Nigeria, especially the Southeast, a thriving centre for positive development.
5. Orientation and Education: Offering preparatory and post-orientation guidance and information to prospective Igbo residents coming to live in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent
6. Promoting Culture: Promoting Igbo language, art, culture, and heritage, preserving the rich cultural tapestry of the Igbo community.
7. Social Inclusion: Advocating for social inclusion, ensuring that no one is left behind within the community.
8. Recreation and Leisure: Providing facilities for recreation and leisure activities, enhancing the quality of life for members.
