Huge thank you to the lads who came to the office this morning and offered to do a litter pick around the areas of mountain bike trails in the woods. We won't embarrass them, but they know who they are. It is much appreciated. We hope others will follow this lead and keep these areas tidy.
Just a reminder that in general, cycling and horse riding is not permitted in the woods, albeit that they are open to users on foot.
The area around Grimsbury Hillfort (hatched red on the plan) is out of bounds for bikes and horses. This is a scheduled ancient monument and is protected by law. Damaging it through making trails etc is a criminal offence. Please adhere to signage.
We do have an area where we allow mountain biking in the spirit of provision for the local community; but if it is to continue it needs to be kept free of litter and any jumps are ONLY to be built by specific agreement to those we are working with. The reason is to ensure that they are safe (rollable) to use and are built properly.
Please continue to use these areas responsibly and look after it, or we'll have no option but to withdraw consent.
We are in the process of creating a network of all weather access paths for all users (on foot, bike and horse) around the Estate which will improve enjoyment all round, but please bear with us while we are working on these.
